Guided Angels Landing and The Narrows day trips with round-trip transport from the Las Vegas Strip. Permits, gear and lunch handled — you just hike.
No rental car, no permit lottery, no 3 AM drive. We pick you up on the Strip, and everything between you and the trail is already taken care of.
The most famous hike in America — a knife-edge ridge with chains bolted into the rock and a 1,500-foot drop on both sides. We hold the commercial permits, so the lottery isn't your problem.
Hike in the Virgin River itself, between walls a thousand feet tall and twenty feet apart. There is no trail — the river is the trail, and it's unlike anything else in the national parks.
Sandstone Trail Co. is built around one idea: the best Zion hikes shouldn't require a rental car, a hotel in Springdale, and winning a permit lottery. Your guide Norbert is a Las Vegas local who has hiked The Narrows around ten times and Angels Landing five — not from a brochure, but on his own two feet, in his own free time.
He'll drive you there, walk every step with you, and tell you how a minister named Angels Landing, why the river decides the Narrows schedule, and what those diagonal stripes in the rock really are. Then he'll drive you home while you nap. That's the job.
The things everyone asks before they book.
No — that's the point. We hold commercial guide permits for Angels Landing, so your spot on the chains is reserved when you book. The public permit lottery (which most applicants lose) is not something you have to deal with.
At hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, starting around 5 AM. You'll get your exact pickup time and location the day before your tour. Drop-off is back at your hotel in the evening.
Angels Landing is genuinely strenuous: 5 miles round trip, 1,500 feet of climbing, and an exposed chains section with drop-offs. You should be comfortable hiking uphill for 2+ hours and not have a severe fear of heights. The Narrows is moderate — you're walking in a river on slippery rocks, but there's no climbing and we set a group turnaround point.
A small daypack, broken-in shoes you don't mind getting wet (Narrows), 2–3 liters of water capacity, sunscreen, and layers. We send a full packing list before your tour. For The Narrows, your river boots, neoprene socks and walking stick are provided and fitted in Springdale.
Zion makes the final call, and so do we — safety first, always. If the Virgin River runs too high, a flash-flood watch is posted, or the chains are iced over, we'll offer to swap you to another tour or date first. If nothing works, you get a full refund — and our guide will honestly be out driving that day wishing he was hiking too.
Small on purpose. Angels Landing runs a maximum of 6 guests per guide (occasionally 12 with two guides). The Narrows stays small enough that the group moves together and nobody gets left behind in the river.
We're finishing permits and putting the final pieces in place. Join the launch list and you'll be the first to know when dates open — founding guests get first pick of Angels Landing Saturdays.
